At the Learning Place, children are encouraged to discover and pursue their interests. They are inspired to learn about their environment and all the wonderful things around them. They also develop positive social skills, learn how to work with others, and make meaningful friendships.
Philosophy
- Every child is unique and deserves the proper attention and guidance in order to realize his or her potential.
- Each one should be encouraged to pursue their own journey of self-discovery, and be given the reassurance that their own way of self-expression will be celebrated.
Daily Program
- Our learning activities are designed to ignite and nurture a child's natural love for learning. The age-appropriate activities focus on hands-on learning and real world experiences. It is inspired by various early childhood disciplines, such as the Montessori method and Reggio-Emilia.
- The daily program includes opportunities for social interaction, individual and group activities, both guided and open-ended learning, and outdoor and physical play.
- Open communication with families is valued. Parents are welcome to visit their children during hours of care. We also welcome parents’ participation in the program, such as providing feedback and suggestions and helping in our activities. Daily Logs and Weekly Newsletters are also provided so parents are kept abreast of their children's development.
- We also offer a variety of yummy and healthy morning and afternoon snacks. As much as possible, these are organic or locally-grown fruits and vegetables.
